The Ontario Association of Craniofacial Trauma Surgeons, or “OACTS”, is a not-for-profit educational and professional association for Craniofacial trauma surgeons in Ontario.
In addition to serving as a resource for its members, the OACTS website is designed to guide the referral of patients with traumatic facial injuries to local and regional surgeons with craniofacial expertise thus serving to streamline and expedite patient care.
Facial trauma patients with emergent associated injuries including:
- Polytrauma patients
- Airway compromise
- Life threatening bleeding
- Facial trauma with Ocular injuries

Facial trauma patients without emergent associated injuries including:
- Multiple facial fractures
- Maxillary and/or mandibular fractures
- Orbit and Zygoma fractures
OACTS aims to provide optimal care and facilitate regional access for patients with Craniomaxillofacial injuries. In order to facilitate this goal please consult the referral guidelines for appropriateness of direct referral to the physicians listed. Please call the physician to whom you have made the referral within 24 hours of requesting the consultation to ensure that the referral was received.
Please ensure the following when referring patients:
- Patient’s contact information including phone number is accurate
- Patient brings a copy of relevant imaging on CD or USB to appointment
- Follow-up with the surgeon's office within 24 hours to ensure referral was received and patient was contacted
